About Nick

Who is Nick Verlaney?

• A Florida born, Nebraska raised sports fanatic.
• A true ‘student of the game’ who has never had the urge to stop learning.
• A proud Alumnus of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
• A cornhead wearing, body painting, sore throat screaming, Husker football fan! 
• An intramural and recreational sports fiend. This includes, but is not limited to; softball, football, basketball, soccer, tennis, dodgeball, and broomball.
• An extremely proud Founding Father of Tau Kappa Epsilon (Phi Chapter) at UNL. Starting a fraternity is extremely difficult, but the amount of time and effort that went into doing it still didnt come close to the amount of fun and relationships I got from it. One of the best decisions of my life.
• A proud participant of Oxford University. I studied abroad at Oxford right before my senior year at UNL, and it exceeded my highest of expectations. I met some great people, saw some breath-taking historical artifacts, learned from phenomenal professors, experienced a great culture, and came out the other side wanting to stay there forever (minus the food of course.)
• A recent football (soccer) hooligan. I am in love with the beautiful game, and love following Chelsea FC and US Soccer.
• A state award winning sports writer in high school (thanks to Susan Baird, and my other classmates).
